Today we have a Spanish test and tomorrow we have a humanities test. I know all the stuff on the tests so I am not very worried about them. We started reading Night and out WWII book. Mine is Salt to the Sea. It is very confusing right now and I can’t really figure out what is going on. It is very hard to follow because it switches between 4 different point of views. It is also at what is hopefully a boring part of the story because they aren’t doing anything right now. I hope it gets better.

Last Wednesday we had the Social Justice Teach-in. It was really cool to teach all the younger kids about Veterans and their issues. We had been learning about it for a very long time and it was a long and enduring process leading up to this. I put a lot of work into it and I’m very happy with how it turned out.

Yesterday we had a basketball game against Dwight, which for some reason was at Leman. They weren’t very good so I played the entire second and fourth quarter. I had 6 points which is my career high! I was very surprised that I scored and so was everyone else.

For my dress like your hero day, I forgot to wear anything special, but luckily I wore my Dogpound sweatshirt. The Dogpound is a gym, so I am just saying I am a trainer. I think this is very good improvisation because I forgot to do anything.

Last wednesday my advisory went to the high school. We sat in on four different classes. It was really cool to see how the high school works compared to the lower school. It helps you see what it is like in high school and know what to prepare for.

For my Karamu sheet I put a picture of my three favorite rappers, Tyler, The Creator, Lil Uzi Vert and Travis Scott. I put them on there because I listen to a lot of their music. The idea of the Karamu sheet this year was to make it a soundtrack which is why I put them on my sheet.

I think that in my ABC essay something I did well was my introduction and conclusion. I think I explained everything really well in the introduction and broadened the topic in the conclusion. I think I need to work on analyzing the evidence without getting off topic.

This winter break I went to Miami. My cousins were also there and we saw them a few times. We went swimming and went on the beach a lot which was very fun. It was 80 degrees every day instead of 10 in New York which was nice.

This photo was taken on Chambers street. I used photoshop to make it seem as if there is an earthquake splitting down the middle of the road. I had to use multiple elements to add the cracks in the road, buildings, and move the cars. A principle of design I have are contrast because of the way I showed the difference in the colors and shadows. I also have emphasis because there was certain things I wanted to pop out more than others, such as the smashed car at the front and the big crack in the front. I have proportion because of the size I made the shapes closer to the front compared to the back. I have rhythm because everything is focused toward the vocal point of the photo, the crack.  I also have balance because everything is made so the more important parts pop out more.
