Artist Statement:
The classroom assignment and discussion of bebop and Miles Davis prompted my interest in this song. My process of this song involved learning about the G dorian mode. I am worse with chords and better at reading music so I know each note I’m playing. Nick helped me by creating sheet music which helped me to learn the chords of G minor and A minor, and the left hand. Although the song doesn’t have the same vibe than the original, I like it. I’m glad that I got to see some diversity in terms of instruments played on our song. During this weird time of covid; although we didn’t get to play live together, it was very cool being able to have other musicians contribute on the track online and make the sound more original.
