Math Pop Quiz
This is my pop quiz. I got a three on it. I am going to practice at home until I am consistently getting 4s. I am going to practice all of the operations that I need to work on. I might want to work on subtraction, and multiplication with fractions.
Xtramath
In Math class, we have been sharpening our multiplication facts. We used a website called Xtramath. When you got each of the multiplication facts within three seconds, you passed. Then you didn’t have to do it anymore. I have passed!
Beowulf Annotations
While we were reading Beowulf, we had to annotate in the book. We were creating chapter summaries for all of the chapters, we were circling and defining words we didn’t know, and we were underlining all the important parts. Annotating is important because if you need to look back at the book, you can always find things that you need. I thought that I did well with all of my chapter summaries. I probably could have been more diligent with my underlining though. If I did it again, I would add more underlines.
Mandarin Work
These are pictures of some of my written Mandarin work. We’re studying the countries in mandarin. These are pages about telling someone what country you’re from, asking what country someone is from, and telling where someone is from.

This is the quizlet set that we are studying in class. It has all the countries that we wanted to know on it.
Ashokan Trip
One interesting thing that I did was blacksmithing. It was really fun to try something that I had no clue how to do. I learned how to canoe and blacksmith on this trip. I also learned how to cut down on your liquid and solid waste at meals. We did a lot of different activities this year. We didn’t do the pond ecology or the homestead. Instead, we did the blacksmith and the ropes course. I had a lot of fun this year at Ashokan.

Something That I Am Proud Of.
This is the project that I am most proud of this year. In humanities, we created an illustration of a character or setting in the book Beowulf. My group did Hall Heorot. We came up with a list of quotes about the place, and characteristics about it too. Then we had to make it. My group did a collage. It took a lot of time to do this project so it felt really good when it was done. I am really proud of this project.
