Wear Orange Weekend is approaching, orange is the color we wear in support of gun violence. This year we have lost so many people to gun violence, and now we can show our support. This originally came from Hadiya Pendleton and friends, who wore orange after a friend was killed at age 15. They wanted to invite everyone to wear orange to show support and raise awareness.
Quoting Phill Kassen from an email to the parents, he states “We invite you to wear ORANGE to school on Friday, June 7th to show your support for measures that can end gun violence. Visit WearOrange.org for more information. You can wear ORANGE clothing, tie an ORANGE ribbon in your hair, wear an ORANGE arm band, etc. You choose.”
