Looking to get healthy in the new year? Here are some foods/habits/tips to help!
I have heard many people say that their new year’s resolution is to be healthier in 2019. I thought I could write an article to show different foods, eating habits and tips to help with this goal.
*This article is not stating that everyone must do these things to be healthy, it is just to help people who want to*
Foods:
The following foods help gain muscle weight, which is helpful for athletes or for people who need to gain more weight/nutrients for health reasons:
- Protein Smoothies
- Milk
- Nut Butters
- Red Meat
- Salmon
- Whole Grain
The following foods help lower cholesterol:
- Tea
- Nuts
- Garlic
- Oats
- Dark Chocolate
- Avocado
The following foods help with weight loss:
- Eggs
- Fruits and Vegetables(grapefruit, apples, blueberries, broccoli, beans etc.)
- Lentils
- Salmon
- Yogurt
- Quinoa
Habits:
Here are some eating habits to help lose weight:
- Cut back on sugars and starches
- Eat protein and vegetables
- Eat a high protein breakfast
- Drink coffee or tea
- Drink water half an hour before meals
- Eat whole, unprocessed foods
- Eat your food slowly
- Eat lots of produce
- Cut down on sodium and saturated fats
- Get a good night’s sleep
Health Tips:
- Try to exercise 2-4 times a week!
- Always stretch before you exercise, so you don’t get hurt.
- Don’t go on crazy diets, because they might make you sick, just stick to healthy habits.
- Try to always stay hydrated, drink 6 to 8 cups of water each day.
- Be positive, it will make you happier and healthier:)
- Get outside, and be active!
- Cook some healthy recipes for yourself!
- Walk more instead of driving, or taking other forms of transportation
- Find fun activities that help you exercise
- Set goals for yourself!
- Most importantly, don’t give up, and don’t compare yourself to others.
