Spirit Week
Rep meetings are a time when the reps discuss ideas, and issues that are relevant in the
Middle School. One of our main purposes is to represent the ideas of our peers in order to make
their ideas heard. So far, Spirit Week has been a very big topic. During Spirit Week, we do fun
activities in order to show school spirit. This year, the themes are:
- Twin Day
○ Twin day is a day that we have had in most of our Spirit Weeks. Every
single year, people pair up with friends in order to celebrate Twin Day. It
doesn’t need to be twins, but any group of people willing to dress up in
the same clothes. It is a very fun way to show school spirit
- Pajama Day:
○ Pajama day is another Spirit Week classic! It is pretty self explanatory, in
which it is a day where everyone comes to school in their pajamas! Also,
on Pajama Day, your class elects a movie to watch. While watching the
movie, you get to eat popcorn and your lunch, and enjoy the movie.
- Dress Like Your Hero Day:
○ Dress Like Your Hero Day is a new day that we just added. It’s a day
where you can dress like your hero, from anywhere! It can be from a
movie, book or real life! No matter what, if they are your hero, you can
dress like them. This year, Dress Like Your Hero Day will also be a “make
your own costume” day. It will be similar to Halloween, where you can
make your costume, and be part of the costume contest.
- Olympics:
○ Olympics are on the last day of Spirit Week, and are the biggest day!.
Olympics are a day where everyone gets into their assigned Olympics
teams, that they stay with for their whole time in Middle School, and
complete fun activities for points. In the end, the judges announce the
winner of Olympics based on who got the most points for completing the
activities at hand. Since we still have time to plan for Olympics, we have
just been brainstorming ideas. These ideas might not happen on
Olympics, but they are things that we have brainstormed!
