This week the 7th Grade went to Williamsburg, VA. We arrived, to school at 7:45 am on Monday, and then sat for seven hours on a long bus ride. At night, we walked around Williamsburg on a ghost tour. The next day we visited a Powhatan reconstructed site, the Jamestown reconstructed site and a reconstructed ship. We ate lunch and then we visited a museum, the original Jamestown colony, and watch a glassblower do their job. That night we watched an interactive Cry Witch play. It was a trial in which a woman was accused of being a witch. The next day we went to a Yorktown reconstructed site, then the Revolutionary War museum in Yorktown, and then the Shirley Plantation. That night we went a music and dance activity on a slave plantation. We learned about how slaves used song and dance to make their jobs easier. On Thursday, we spent the morning taking a group tour around Williamsburg, followed by a picnic. We then spent the majority of the afternoon walking around Williamsburg in small groups and interviewing people. That night we swam and then had a delicious dinner at a tavern. We left the next morning. Overall, I think everyone enjoyed the 7th Grade Williamsburg Trip.
