Here at LREI basketball season has hit the air, as the 7th 8th grade season is starting up, for the 5th and 6th graders intramural basketball is starting up too. At recess kids are starting to play it and the sounds of a bouncing basketball are filling the kids ears. Unfortunately I could not get any of the head coaches for any team to interview so I brought Cameron Krakowiak, an assistant coach for Michael’s team.
Each team seems very fair with great players and stars.

Weekly Knights: Are you excited for the upcoming intramural season?
Cameron: Yeah, I think that their are a lot of good players that can help out each team, I think that their are players good at each season, and there can’t be one player that leads a team to a championship, it is that if you have multiple players that are not the best but they are good, that is how you win a championship.
WK: How is it different being an assistant coach rather than a player, do you still get nervous and get excited every game?
C: I don’t get nervous but I still worry about my team sometimes, I think it is being different from a player, it is not necessarily how you play it is about having a mindset and learning the game everytime I watch or play basketball. I think it is very important being an assistant coach.
WK: Thank you, for your time, Cameron
C: Your welcome.

As you can see if some 7th and 8th graders are excited for the season. It should be a joy for everyone. When basketball season returns to LREI, Basketball noises fill the ears, and smiles go across most everyone’s faces.
