As many people know, the 7th and 8th grade boys basketball team has been on a hot streak. But lately they have run into some trouble and after this last game against Churchill, you may have forgotten that streak altogether. Today I’m going to explain what happened in that game.

In the 1st quarter the Knights came out excited but they got confused very quickly. The other team’s players were very tall and the Knights could not seem to grab a rebound. At the end of the quarter they fell short by 14 points. In the second quarter they still were confused. They could not handle the double teams, but they did have some highlight plays thanks to number 21, Caleb Silberberg. At the beginning of the 2nd quarter he crossed an unfortunate Churchill player and nailed a 3. And to top it off, he hit another 3 later in that same quarter.

The Knights went back to the locker room looking tired but hopeful. They talked it over and entered the third quarter ready to bounce back. The knights needed a person to step up and Ethan McKesey was that man. He dropped in many times and scored multiple points, but later in the 3rd Ethan came down hard on the floor. The crowd gasped and stayed quiet. Ethan clutched his knee and got taken out immediately. Luckily he rallied and returned near the end of the quarter.

In the 4th quarter the Knight’s bench was sitting back and scratching their heads. The Knights were chucking up 3’s in desperation and every once in a while the crowd gave a sarcastic cheer. Ultimately the Knights fell to Churchill 56 – 25, but are looking forward to their next matchup.
