A Well Deserved Break

Dear Families:

A tremendously busy week in the Middle School with the Sixth Grade Medieval Pageant, the Fifth grade Egyptian Tomb, the beginning of the Eighth Garde Forensics Unit, Seventh Grade presentations on the McCarthy Period, and students preparing for travel to France and Spain. All worth celebrating on Founder’s Day tomorrow and followed by a well-deserved break for all.

1) From Phil Kassen, Director: Thank you for displaying your LREI ID as you enter our buildings. This simple measure makes a big difference in making the school secure. While it may seem odd for a school employee to ask you, by name, for an identification card, we feel strongly that the only way to avoid offending anyone is to ask all to show an ID card as they enter the buildings. Thanks again.

2) Also from Phil Kassen, Director: From Phil Kassen, Director: On Monday, April 17th, we invite you to join a discussion of the School’s placement policy for Lower and Middle School students. We will send home more information about this conversation over the next few weeks, but are hoping to address questions and concerns that we hear in the community. Finally, please see the attached copy of the Diversity and Community Action Plan and a flyer for the two discussions. I hope to see you on Tuesday.
