Chick-fil-A’s Politics are Almost as Disgusting as Eating at KFC

By Hudson Kassen

We all love Chick-fil-A’s sandwiches, the buttery, crispy batter, the tender chicken, and the tangy sauce keep us wanting more every time. And with their new Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich and seemingly exclusive rights to waffle fries there’s so much to desire, unless what you crave is another man.

Chick-fil-A’s politics have proven disappointing time and again. They have shown loyalty to the church and declared same sex marriage immoral. Between COO Dan T. Cathy’s remarks in 2012 about the immorality of same sex marriage and the company’s major donation in 2018 to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a group that stands against transgender people playing in sports leagues, they have shown a lack of compassion for the LGBTQ+ community.

Many people felt that they could no longer support the chain’s viewpoint and decided to boycott. This was all well and good at first but when it came time for a chicken sandwich where would we all go? No big deal, we all thought, I’ll just go to KFC. Well boy were we wrong, the KFC chicken was dry and stringy and each of the touted 11 Herbs and Spices™ seemed to be salt.

During my seven days of violent retching I had time to do some thinking. Considering Chick-fil-A’s stances on LGBTQ+ rights made me sick, but not quite as sick as the food from KFC. So while it is important to stand up for what you believe is right, remember that nothing is quite as important as delicious chicken.
