Pentagon Shares Potential UFO Sightings

By Wyatt Wolfman

On April 28th, the Pentagon released a series of videos, admitting the objects pictured in them could be UFO’s, or unidentified flying objects. Many people are considering this to be a big deal because UFO’s are most often associated with aliens. But these videos are not new. They were initially released between December 2017 and March 2018 by a private company, To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science. However, the UFOs were captured on video by US fighter pilots during training missions in 2004 and 2015. Then, in September 2019, the Navy confirmed that the videos were unedited. So why did the US Navy release these videos again? According to Pentagon spokesperson Sue Gough, the videos were released again “in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos.” This indirect answer suggests that the Navy doesn’t know much more than the general public about what the UFO’s really are. However, the lack of a response by the US government suggests that there is nothing to be worried about. In one of the videos, the pilots can be heard saying, “It’s a f****g drone, bro,” “My gosh! They’re all going against the wind,” and “Look at that thing, dude!” The pilots were evidently alarmed to see the UFOs. This suggests that they had not previously encountered UFO’s, and were not trained on how to manage the situation. But the pilots are not the only people alarmed – shortly after the Pentagon released the videos (on April 28th), Japan’s defense ministry announced it was ramping up their UFO encounter protocols. However, this seems like a precaution for potential future encounters. Taro Kono, Japan’s defense minister, had claimed last week that “SDF pilots have never encountered UFOs. However, the ministry will set some protocols to cover the possibility.” When the videos were initially released, they raised serious concerns throughout the general public. Although many remain concerned, the soft government responses indicate that we should not fear an imminent alien encounter or attack.
