Q: Hi, I am a 16 year old boy and I was wondering how I can get my chemistry grades up. I mean I study so hard and meet with the teacher but dang nabbit [dagnabbit] I still am not able to get an A and I have had an A- this whole year?

A: You seem to be doing all the right things. If you are studying really hard, I wouldn’t suggest you study more, maybe you should look into your study method. You might be trying to memorize something as best you can, but it won’t be as effective as if you tried to get an understanding of it. Also studying super hard and for many hours makes it harder for your brain to retain all the information. I would go to the learning center and discuss with someone there how you can improve your study methods. Keep studying hard and meeting with your teachers. If you get an A this trimester you might be able to get an A as your overall chemistry grade.

Hope I could help 🙂
