Wednesday 11/18
In Class: Discuss ALWG pp. 69-99
Homework: Read and annotate ALWG Chapter 12 (pp. 100-113) for Friday.

Thursday 11/19
In Class: Discuss writing reviews of your RWR books and booktalks. You should be reading and finishing your first RWR book soon!
Homework: Complete essays according to checklist.

Friday 11/20
In Class: Final Antigone/Socrates essay due. Discuss ALWG Chapter 12.
Homework: 1) Read and annotate chapters 13-15 (pp 114-137). 2) For Tuesday’s class, select an outside poem, song lyric, or image that connects to one of the themes you saw in those pages. Type a one-page reflection (Reflection # 5) in which you explore the connection between your outside text and A Long Way Gone. Make sure to incorporate evidence from both your outside text and ALWG in your response! BRING YOUR POEM/SONG LYRICS/IMAGE TO CLASS on Tuesday; please staple it to your Reflection # 5.

Monday 11/23—No Class

Tuesday 11/24
In Class:  Reflection 5 due. Sharing of your outside texts.  Discuss Chapters 13-15. Listen to selections of Rambo soundtrack.
Homework: 1) Read and annotate ALWG chapters 16-17 pp. 138-166. 2) Write your book review and post it to your Goodreads account by 6 pm on Tuesday 12/1. 3) Prepare for your booktalks which you will all deliver during your Research Class when we return from Thanksgiving.

Wednesday 11/25 – Friday 11/27 – No Class, Thanksgiving Break!

Monday 11/30 – No Class
