My French Assignments

One assignment that I did in French class was the café conversation. I would learn both parts, the server and the customer. It was a bit tricky at first, because I had to learn how to say, “how much is that?”(Ça fait combien?), “I’m hungry.”(J’ai faim), “Give me an apple!”(Donnez-moi une pomme!), and much more! Before I knew it, I was in Maison Kayser ordering what I wanted in french. I would say, “Je voudrais un crêpe chantill et glace chocolat.”(I would like a cream crêpe and a iced chocolat.) I learned so much from the study, and also learned many sayings and foods in french.

Another assignment that I did in French class was the food and drink study. I would learn the translations to a bunch of foods and drinks. For example, “du fromage” was cheese, and “un jus d’orange” was orange juice. I would practice everyday on quizlet until I knew each food and drink by heart. After a couple weeks of studying the foods and drinks we had a two separate tests on them. For the food test you had to say what the food was in french and english, and for the drinks it was the same.

The café conversation and the food and drink activities were a lot fun! In a way they both connected with each other. In a café if you wanted to order tea with strawberries, you would just say, “Je voudrais des fraises et un thé.” The “Je voudrais” comes from the café conversation, and the “des fraises et un thé” comes from the food and drink study.
