Math reflection
In fifth grade math I am most nervous about showing my work in math. What I am most excited about In fifth grade math is that it seemed fun because we saw them playing math games.
My Maps
These are the maps I made then and now.
at the beggining of the year   Â
At the end of the year

I scrubs
This is is a picture of a little girl saying “I scrubs” the question ” what do you do all day”. Jacob Riis took this picture. We had to write what she was thinking well she was saying I scrubs. Our Grownups had to write she was thinking at curriculum night but they didn’t know anything about it.
New Colossus Drawing
This is is a picture of part of the poem The New Colossus. At the beginning of the year I did not know anything about the poem but now I have learned so much about it.
Book Review Thoughts
My favorite Book Review this year was Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library. This is because I got to do it with a partner and I got to make a diorama which was fun. It was fun because I like doing art projects.
Another Book Review I liked is the one I did on The Borrowers. I want to mention this because it was one of my first ones so I like to see how much I improved since then.
Wiggly Line Writing
Larry The Dancing Banana (with a tophat)
Â
Once upon a time in a fridge, lived a banana named Larry. He lived with his parents, his brother, and his sister. The house the fridge was in, was in a small town on the countryside. But Larry was bored of the fridge.
One day he heard the humans talking about dessert and one said, âWhy donât we make banana bread for dessert?â Â And he knew all humans love banana bread so obviously the other human agreed. And as you wouldâve thought Larry did not want to get eaten (I donât think you would if you were a banana). So of course Larry decided to escape.
Just when the human opened the door to get Larry and his family he started to run, which made the human faint. And when the other human was too busy calling the ambulance Larry made his escape. You might be wondering how he made his escape, the owners of the house had a dog so he slipped through the doggy door.
Larry was sad to leave his family behind, but at least he was still alive. Meanwhile in the lab of doctor Falafages, doctor Falafages was making something very peculiar. It was supposed to make something disappear! And the thing he happened to be testing it on was a banana.
Back at the house Larry ran so fast he felt like his feet were going to fall off!- Even though he had no feet, he was kinda rolling. The humans were still looking for him but of course they would never find Larry. Â He ran until he saw a barrel to hide in hoping no humans would find him and want to put him in banana bread. Suddenly the barrel tipped over and rolled to the side. Then he saw a sign that said âDoctor Falafageseâs Labâ Â and not knowing what it meant very much, he walked in.
The walls were bright white and there were tables full of liquids. Larry saw a man wearing a white lab coat. On the table he saw another banana, walking over to it ,Larry accidentally knocked the other banana out a open window. Larry just sat there, watching it fall to the ground with a splat. Doctor Falafages thought Larry was his test subject so he picked larry up and put him closer to him. He slowly poured the potion on Larryâs skin. and with a poof Larry started dancing with a top hat on his head.
He was dancing all kinds of dances, the Tango, the Disco, even Break dancing. Until he heard doctor Falafages say that it was supposed to make him disappear. (Lucky for Larry the experiment went wrong). When he got outside he saw something he had never seen beforeâŚ.It was a bakeshop! And you know what that means… banana bread! He ran so fast so he would not be put in banana bread. But just then he saw someone come out of the shop. Larry was so scared he pretended to be dead. But the man just picked him thinking he was a misplaced banana.
Larry thought this had to be the end of him. The man brought him into the shop. The walls were yellow. There was a glass case filled with treats (especially banana bread). The man brought him into a room where he saw a bunch of chefs. He put him in a basket next to a chef. they all started looking at larry dancing wide eyed. That is when Larry made his escape when they were just standing there. He did the disco out of the shop, into the street , and past the lab. He Break danced away into the sunset as he wondered where he would go next. (As you would have noticed everywhere he goes he dances in a different way).
The End
Bye,bye
(You can go now!)
Dan and Jen gave us a piece of paper with a wiggly line on it and we had to draw a picture using the wiggly line. Then we had to write a story about the drawing. This was my story.
