Coding my Website!

Here is a link to my website: https://84d4c4924459555e60852d19e8d72d7fd3b7ab6e.googledrive.com/host/0B6E2zK1uNzQxMC1qTjh3VjBESzQ/index.html

I really liked the experience of coding my website because I could make it about anything and it was really fun experimenting with all of the different codes. I thought it came to me easily and I didn’t have a lot of trouble with it. I like the theme of my website a lot. I would love to do more website coding and design in the future!

Four Things I HATE About New York City

Here are four things that I absolutely HATE about New York City:

  1. The homeless people. Sometimes they make me sad but sometimes they scare me. The specific thing I hate about them is that they have to beg in order to survive. I think that if everyone helped them out, there would be no homeless people and I think that would be one less thing that people don’t like about New York City.
  2. Annoying taxi drivers. I absolutely hate when there is a taxi driver that takes the long, slow way to get more money or to just be lazy. It drives me crazy! Whenever I go to my orthodontist office on 62nd street and Park Avenue, the taxi driver always takes the long way with a bunch of traffic to get more money.
  3. Tourists. I think it’s very funny but very annoying when a tourist comes up to you and says, “Where’s _____ street?” and you say, “You’re standing on it.” It can be really annoying if you are running late and a tourist comes up to you and asks you a question like that. I think that is another bad thing.
  4. Lastly, trash. I can’t stand when there is gross trash all around you and you see people dropping more trash all over the place and then when you go there the next day, it isn’t nice and clean so you can appreciate your walk or whatever you’re doing.

Final Ideas about the Planners!

We all voted and the final planners are option 5 and option 10. I don’t like option 5 because when Clair prints the planners in black and white, we won’t be able to see what we wrote down for homework because the paper will be grey. Also the pictures could be distracting. I like option 10 because it’s black and white so when Clair prints it, there won’t be a problem. The columns to write down your homework in are very organized so Clair could easily split the planner across two pages so that we have more room to write assignments.

For the covers, we haven’t voted yet but I would want something that doesn’t have a lot of pictures. Maybe 1-3 pictures. I don’t really care about the cover as much as I do about the inside of the planner.

My First Week!

I am really enjoying middle school so far. My favorite class so far is P.E. because we play games like dodgeball related games, everybody’s it, etc. I also really like Math because I really like the way Ana teaches the class and all the fun perplexing problems she gives us. I had an amazing summer this year because I got to see my friends at sleep away camp and I also went to East Hampton for the rest of the summer.

My Ideas for the New Planner!

In d.lab, Clair assigned us to make a post about our ideas for the new planner. Here are some of mine:

We can use the Google Cardboard concept to make a planner where you see all your homework laid out in front of you. (Google Cardboard are these goggles made out of cardboard and you can hook your goggles up to a device and when you put them on, you feel like you’re in the movie.)

Every week 2-3 kids get picked randomly to customize the planner on photoshop that can hold space for  homework info for the amount of 10 days (2 weeks of school.)

Those are my ideas for the new planner!

My Summer!

814-1404575236-688234This summer was amazing! For the first half of the summer I went to my sleep away camp , Wavus camp for girls, for 3 1/2 weeks! I saw a bunch of my old friends from last year and met new friends! That picture is from our trip to Mt. Blue State Park in Maine. After camp, I went to the Hamptons for the rest of the summer! I learned how to surf, I got a boogie board, and I saw my family and friends. Overall, it was the best summer ever.
