I think that most of the time we get a lot of work. It’s hard to be initiative and have some perseverance when there is just to much work to do those things. Every day we get homework but usually one piece of homework takes a good 30 minutes-1 hour. We have at least seven classes a day. We get one piece of homework from seven of those classes everyday.

Most of us students have things to do after school. We have lives and some of us are actually pretty well rounded people. I know people who do multiple sports, and I personally have a strict practicing time when it comes to music. None of us should have to cut that time from our outside activities because of a ton of homework, because some of us actually have a life plan on what we want to do. For me, I am pretty positive that I want to go to a music conservatory college. My goal in life is that, therefore I have to give it my all when it comes to practicing and preparing. But when I have so much homework to the point where I usually have to stay up until 11 at night. It’s stressful and especially the worst feeling in the word when you get a bad grade. Which brings up my next point. The grading system is horrible in not just this school but a bunch of other schools I know. Most of the students in my grade don’t even care about the learning part of things and they usually don’t even remember the certain things that we have learned on a quiz. Us student are pretty much trained to just study for something that is happening on one day aka a quiz, and all we care about is the grade. The grades drive us into thinking whether we are smart people or not. People would get 3.5’s and think “oh, this is not good enough I’m not smart” and people like that would say that out loud and then people who got grades lower then a 3.5 go on thinking “oh, that must mean I’m really not smart”. Students in schools are like machines who just want a good grade. We have to keep this negative attitude going for months until school ends. It’s stressful and gives us loads of anxiety.

Teachers may think that this is a joke. That students don’t get anxiety or stressed. That we are just overreacting. But I can definitely say that all of this is real.
