Hello everyone, today I will be sharing some ways YOU can have fun on Halloween during the pandemic. As we all know, the CDC recommends wearing masks and distancing around anybody you do not live with, so here are some ways you can still party without putting yourself and others at risk! You can decorate your house/apartment/living space with relatives, close family members, or by yourself. If you decorate the exterior and distance with masks, you can do it with your friends as well! If you and your family have all gotten negative COVID tests recently, (or if you take great safety measures), you could possibly hand out Halloween candy to trick-or-treaters like this family did! A6 foot long PVC pipe can be used as a “candy slide” Used to hand out candy! The person handing the candy out can be on the delivering end and the trick-or-treater can be on the receiving end! This ensures safety because the pipe keeps the distance between each person. Remember to wear a mask. If you want to take extra precautions, you can wear gloves to keep the candy clean! Of course the wrapper protects it, but you can never be too safe! Another thing you can do this Halloween is carving pumpkins with your family and/or distanced with your close friends. There are always fun images you can carve into pumpkins that you can find online or ones you can create yourself! Pumpkins, along with carving kits, are sold at a number of places , including Target, Whole Foods, Walmart, and some others. If you try any of these, let me know at 25oonak@lrei.org and tell me how it went! I hope you all found this article helpful.
