Astronomers announced on Wednesday that they saw what they never thought they would be able too, this was a black hole! A quote from the New York Times states, “A cosmic abyss so deep and dense that not even light can escape it.”
“We’ve exposed a part of our universe we’ve never seen before,” said Shep Doeleman, an astronomer that attends Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, the image you see above you is trying it’ best to capture the image of this black hole. This happened during a Wednesday news conference in Washington, D.C.
