Yay! The holidays are coming up and with the festive season ( know matter what you celebrate) you want festive food. I’m going to give you some yummy easy to make recipes so that your holidays can be as “tasteful” as possible!
First, I’ll give you a personal favorite:
Holiday Treasure Cookies! here are the ingredients and the directions.
1 1/2 cups of crushed graham crackers
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 stick of softened butter of margarine
1 3/4 cups of HERSHEYS MINI KISSES
1 1/3 candy coated chocolate pieces
1 1/3 cups MOUND sweetened coconut flakes.
Here the directions:
1) heat oven to 375 f – stir together the graham cracker crumbs, flour and baking powder in a small bowl; set bowl aside.
2) beat sweetened condensed milk and butter until smooth add reserved crumb mixture, mixing well. Stir in chocolate, candy coated chocolate pieces, coconut. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
3) Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire racks. Cool completely.
This next recipe is for chocolate lovers!
Double Chocolate Sandwich.
The ingredient are:
1 package refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1 bar of chopped bittersweet chocolate
2 teaspoons butter
3/4 cups of milk chocolate chips
here are the directions:
1) preheat oven to 350 f – remove cookie dough from rapper keeping it in its log shape.
2) cut dough into 1/4 inch thick slices. Arrange slices 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Cut centers out of half of cookies using half inch round cookie cutters.
3) Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Let stand on cookie sheets for 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks;cool completely.
4) Place bittersweet chocolate and butter in a small heavy saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring frequently, until chocolate is melted. Spread chocolate over flat sides of cookies without holes. Immediately top each cutout cookie.
5) Place milk chocolate chips in resealable food storage bag; seal bag. Put the microwave on medium for 1 1/2 minutes. Turn bag over; microwave 1 to 1 1/2 more or until chocolate chips are melted. Knead (stir) bag until chocolate is smooth.
6) Cut tiny corner off bag; drizzle chocolate decoratively over sandwich cookies. Let stand until until chocolate is set, about 30 minutes.
this last recipe is a fun festive looking cookie!
Snowman.
here are the ingredients:
1 package of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
1 1/2 cups of sifted powdered sugar
2 tablespoons of milk
candy corn
gumdrops
chocolate chips
licorice and other assorted small candies
instructions:
1) preheat oven to 375 f – remove dough from wrapper. Cut dough into 12 equal sections. Shape each section into 3 balls: small, medium and large just like a snowman!
2) For each snowman, place 1 each small,medium and large ball 1/4 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
3) Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool 4 minutes on cookie sheets; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
4) Mix powdered sugar and milk in medium bowl until smooth; pour evenly on over cookies. Let stand 20 minutes or until set.
5) Decorate with assorted candies to create faces, hats, scarves and arms.
