Hey everyone! I love watching netflix with my friends and family, especially as it’s getting dark out earlier and colder outside! Here are some of my all time favorites, and by category! Hope you enjoy and feel free to email me if you also like these shows or have more suggestions at 25ceciliac@lrei.org
Favorite Series!
Gossip Girl: Gossip girl is one of my favorite shows and it is mainly about two best friends, Blair Waldorf and Serena Wanderwoodsen, and their highschool experience in uptown New York City on the Upper East Side. It’s definitely a very addictive show, and you’ll love following the characters through all of their friendships and time in highschool. I recommend watching grades 7th up.
Bunk’d: I grew up watching the show Jessie and was about 4 kids who live in NYC and their babysitter Jessie. They go on crazy adventures every episode and is so much fun to watch, especially for younger audiences! Bunk’d is a continuation of the series, following the kids to a sleepaway camp. I loved this show when it first came out, and continue to watch it occasionally for fun. If you liked Jessie, I highly recommend watching Bunk’d, for it was fun for me watching my favorite characters in a different setting! Recommend any grade in middle school!
Favorite movies!
The Lorax: The Lorax is one of my all time favorite movies. This movie is based on the book by Dr. Suess and has many catchy songs and great animation. I personally love the colors and music and characters, which is why I continue to watch this movie today. This is considered a kids movie, so is a great option for all middle schoolers and also has a great message about loving the natural world and its resources, something that is very important and relevant today, in a fun way to understand!
The Princess Switch: The Princess Switch is a great lighthearted movie about twins that don’t know each other. One of them leads a pretty “normal” life, and goes to a regular high school. The other twin is a princess, and is a very over the top character. When they meet, they decide to switch places, and their lives are changed. I think this is a great movie for any grade in middle school and very enjoyable and entertaining for the whole family!
