New Coke is a soft drink that was around in 1985. But, the production of it came to a halt after some backlash. Now, it’s coming back, and many say Netflix is to blame. Many of you probably know the show Stranger Things. This is a very popular Netflix show, and the third season is coming out this summer, July 4th. How do these two things relate? Well, New Coke is going to be featured in multiple episodes of the new season of Stranger Things. The Coke drink will also be making a return (in limited supply). Both companies say there was no transaction with money. In return for the publicity of the drink, Netflix is spreading the buzz about the new season. They have also teamed up with around 75 other brands. For example, multiple clothing brands are selling clothes similar to the character’s real outfits. The show has a big positive fan base, so the clothes should too. This is a way for Netflix to make money through promotions. Netflix is one of the few ad-free streaming services, so they are using product collaborations as a way to make more money. The coke is said to be included because it is relative to the time period.
