On January 22, the supreme court voted for Trump’s military ban. It was 5-4 and the ban won. This ban is banning most transgender people from serving the military. In 2016, there were about 8,890 transgender people in the army. This ban affects so many people. Trump tweeted this after the decision: “After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military, Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.”
