“Prom the Musical” opened November 15th. The show’s book was written by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin. The show was choreographed and directed by Casey Nicholaw. Music written by Matthew Skylar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin and the original concept was created by Jack Viertel. Mattea Conforti and Ayla Schwartz took their final bows in “Frozen On Broadway” as young Anna and Elsa. Be sure to keep a look out this Thursday for musical performances at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade which you can watch on NBC.
Musical of the Week
In honor of Thanksgiving, this week’s musical is The Holiday Inn. Music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and libretto by Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge. The show is about a man named Jim, he works in show business. He leaves behind the bright lights in the big city and moves to Connecticut. His life changes when he meets Linda, a talented school teacher. Together, the two work to make Jim’s old farmhouse into a beautiful inn where they celebrate every holiday with extravagant parties.This musical was filled of plot twists and celebration. Unfortunately, the show closed on January 15th, 2017.
