The middle school teams this year have been so amazing this year. Winning 3 out of 4 Championship games, the Middle School team’s have played it doesn’t seem that hard that they might win another one. Just like the Disc Championship for Soccer, it was LREI vs St. Lukes and again it was a situation where St. Lukes has won all the games leading up to the championship. The game seemed improbable for the LREI Knights, before the Championship game the Knights were both blown out by St Lukes. But the Knights have some magic in them. After a 20 point deficit after the first half it seemed the Knights had to have a miracle to come back. Well the Miracle happened, after crawling and scratching by the Fourth quarter they were just down 2 points. Ethan drived and got fouled and made his foul shots. Then with just 20 seconds left they were tied. The Knights had the ball so obviously you would think they would waste time and shoot at the buzzer. Well they didn’t Ethan passed a ball down in the paint an improbable pass to Pierre, where he shot the ball and made the layup. The crowd went wild, this was the first time they were in the Lead since the first minutes of the game, and Pierre Roederer made the shot that put LREI back on top. Its pretty crazy to think that just like the soccer championship they came in 0-2 against St. Lukes and loosing near the wire in the Championship. I will end todays article with a quote from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, “You can’t win unless you learn how to loose.”
