As you may or may not know, the Golden State Warriors, being led by Steph Curry, arguably the best shooter in the league now, are starting off the season with a 22-0 record as of 12/7. This is the longest win streak for a team to start a season with in any of the four major sports in the United States: baseball, basketball, football and hockey. They have been tearing up the league, with only 7 out of their 22 wins coming by 10 points or less. Curry himself is the reigning MVP, averaging 32.4 points a game this season, with his highest scoring affair being against the New Orleans Pelicans on Halloween, scoring 53 points in a 134-120 win. There have also been some other outstanding performers on the Warriors team, such as Draymond Green, averaging 14 points and 9 rebounds a game. Another outstanding performer has been Festus Ezeli. After a couple of unknown seasons, he surged in his 3rd season, starting many games. This season, he has become a regular occurrence in every game. While most of the Warrior’s wins are considered blowouts, their closest ones have came on November 30th, when they played the Jazz, winning 106-103. Steph curry made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 51.9 seconds left, and the Warriors never relinquished that lead. The other team that only lost to the Warriors by 3 is the Toronto Raptors, losing 112-109 on December 5th. With 2:03 left in the game, Draymond Green sunk two free throws. The Warriors would never relinquish that lead, although letting it get close. The Warriors have a game tonight, against the Pacers, their toughest test yet this season.
