The holidays are coming and everybody’s excited. Here are the steps to having the coolest house decorations for Christmas.
- Put up your Christmas tree. The best height is when it’s just a few feet below your ceiling. Make sure that your tree is healthy and will last until Christmas.
- Decorate your tree. To decorate your tree, start with lights. Always use a lot of them and be patient while you’re untangling your lights from last year. It’s easier to untangle them while you’re going slowly. Next, put all of your heavy ornaments on. Put them on a strong branch one quarter to one third of the way toward the trunk. Try to rest them on a branch below while hanging them on a branch above. Now, take the rest of your ornaments and put them everywhere else. Remember to put them high and low. Last is the star!
- Step three is to put out all of your Christmas decorations like statues and models and nativity scenes (if you’re religious). Place them all over your house.
- Now, do your window decorations. Start with your window lights. Drape them at the tops of your windows on all the windows in your house. Use red, green and white lights for that. If you want to use tinsel, put it right next to the lights. If you have Gel Gems, which are window clings, put them up in the middle of your windows.
- If you have a fire escape or a porch, decorate that next. Go outside with colored lights or old-fashioned big lights. Wrap them around the top of the wall keeping you from falling off and weave them in between the bars supporting the top bar (if you have a fire escape).
- Decorate your door. Make some signs that say “Merry Christmas” and get a wreath.
- Sit back, put on some Christmas music, grab a hot cocoa and enjoy your decorations.
