Due Friday: Social Justice Blog Work

A. Social Justice Blog Post About Last Year:

Please follow these directions in order.

Go to our Social Justice Blog: blog.lrei.org/greencore and click on the link that says 2008-2009 blog posts at the bottom of the page.

Find a post from last year that you think is A quality work.  (to scroll back you have click Previous Entries so you can find some older ones).

Copy down the name of the person, the date, and the organization (do not use the sample we used in class from Madeline, and you must not all do the same one, so find your own example!) of the post that you think is excellent.

Then, log in to post your first post which will be ABOUT that post you located from last year that you think is A quality work.  To do so, you need to log in.

Directions to Log In:

  1. Go to http://blog.lrei.org/greencore /wp-admin
  2. Username is greencore; password is the opposite (if you don’t know what I mean, ask a classmate).
  3. BE SURE YOU READ carefully the Blog Post/Journal Guidelines by clicking the link on the left side of the blog so you are sure that your post will be recorded properly.  You must read this in order to know what boxes must be clicked.  It might be helpful to print out to follow or open in another screen to refer back to it.
  4. For your first post, write about last year’s blog post that is a A quality work and say why you were impressed and what made it so good. Follow the directions to be sure your post is recorded!

B. Posting About Any Visits: If you have had a visit, you may want to do an actual posting now; go ahead. Be sure you follow the steps and use the titling guidelines.

C.  Follow Up– with your voicemail and email to check for responses from your organizations and be in touch with your group members to keep the ball rolling. You have 9 days to complete your first visit!
