Wednesday, November 21

1. Read pages 15-31 of Larry Watson’s Montana 1948. We will work with that section in class on Monday after Thanksgiving Break, so BE READY.

Have a fabulous Thanksgiving break with your family! There is so much for which to be thankful…

***Reminder***

If you missed Parts I and/or II of the Reconstruction film, you MUST attend a re-screening in Leila’s room on Monday, November 26th from 3:15 to 5:00.

Tuesday, November 20

1. Use the Prologue of Montana 1948 to create a “found” or “distilled” poem. You may only add THREE words that are not actually written in the Prologue. You may rearrange, repeat, break apart, and add verb endings to words. TYPE UP your final poem, single spaced in 12-point font. Give credit to Larry Watson, the author of Montana 1948.

2. Make a visual to accompany your found poem. It does not have to match your poem literally. It is more important that it represent the TONE of your found poem. It can be a drawing, painting, magazine collage, digital photo, PhotoShop montage, anything visual.

Your poem and visual should be final versions–polished and professional-looking. They will be displayed in the hallway for all to see. Make sure your name is on both!
