Due Friday:

Finish “The Civil War and the Constitution” and the questions.

Due Wednesday:

A complete draft of your personal narrative based on the work on Wednesday in writing workshop. Your piece should SHOW not TELL- instead of “the woman was old,” write,”the woman’s wrinkled face was topped by a crown of silvery hair.” It should be filled with vivid and unique detail. 2-3 pages, typed.

The criteria for the writing are: it’s true, it happened to you, it’s first person, you want to write about it, and it’s meaningful to you. ONLY WRITE the heart of the piece–get right to the part that is meaningful and cut the rest.
