That is it! Annual end of year events have been completed and all students have packed up, said their goodbyes, and headed home. Commencement is over and the seniors are off to summer fun and jobs and are already preparing for college and university studies. We are so proud of them and wish them the best of everything.
A few “Thank You”s from me:
First, thank you to my colleagues in LREI’s classrooms and those who work in so many other capacities around the school. As I said in my commencement address, the only thing we could count on each morning during this unpredictable year is that, come what may, LREI’s faculty and staff would get the job done. You are the best!
Speaking of the best…thank you to LREI’s families for your participation this year. Thank you for your support of LREI in so many ways. Thank you for joining us for events from curriculum nights to principal interviews to the Shindig to the Street Fair. Thank you for coming together to learn, to meet each other, and to support your children. You are the best, as well, and you make our work with your children so much more fruitful.
And, finally, thank you to our students. As we have been celebrating all year, when Elisabeth Irwin designed her brand of progressive education, she put the students at the center. If LREI’s students were not so willing, so inquisitive, so eager to participate and to learn, none of what we do would work. I am, we are, so glad that the students we have in all three divisions are such amazing partners. You are also the best.
Have a great summer. Be in touch as needed – do not hesitate to call or email though it might take us a wee bit longer to respond. We will be in touch with you as necessary.
I am already looking forward to September 7, 2022 – the first day of school!
On to the Bicentennial – 2121 here we come!
