BIG Shindig

Dear LREI Community – 

Today, an unabashed advertisement….

What is a Big Shindig?  LREI’s Big Shindig is a fun, casual, community celebration with a buffet-style dinner, cocktails, a tequila lounge, DJ, dancing, photo booth, silent auction, paddle raise, a raffle (did someone say “Director for the Day”?) and so much more.

Why is the Big Shindig? The Big Shindig raises essential funds for our peer-leading financial aid program. LREI provides more financial aid per capita than almost all of our peer schools. Financial aid is an essential and long-standing part of LREI’s mission and has always been generously supported by the school community.

Is this different from the Fund for LREI? Excellent question. Each year, LREI, as do most nonprofits, asks its community to support the institution. We budget for the monies we raise through the Fund for LREI and rely on the generosity of the community to support this effort and we are never let down. Thank you!

We also have one additional BIG fundraising event each year. This year is a BIG SHINDIG year and next year it will be the ART PARTY. Both are important, both are long standing community events, and both are SUPER FUN!

What am I asking? Come to the Big Shindig! It is really fun. Buy your tickets now. Tickets are available in all price ranges – cover your cost, pay the suggested price, cover the cost of a teacher ticket (All employees attend for free.  Help defray this cost), pay what you wish.  Just come!  We really WANT you to be there. Yes, you!

Do I have to bid on something or buy something? You don’t have to.  But…please do. Support LREI – there is something for everyone’s price range. Really, there is.

What should I wear?  Nice, comfortable, ready to party. Really, just be there.

Who will be there? We have invited everyone, the WHOLE LREI community. Grab a friend and we will see you there.
