A Huge Thank You from Us to You

As the school year draws to a close, I want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the hard work and dedicated, committed participation that you, the LREI parent body, brings to your time as members of the school community. Whether you are an active, elected, appointed, or an occasionally active member of the Parents Association or someone whose participation is more personal, focused on your child’s experience, thank you. Thank you to the dozens of parents who act as class representatives, and are so important to home-school communication. Maybe you chair a committee, steadily moving the group’s agenda and the school’s mission forward. Thank you. Did you volunteer at one of the theatrical performances? Thank you. Cheer on a team? Thank you. Organize or help create an all-school event? Thank you. Contribute to the Fund for LREI? Thank you. Bring in treats for one of the many faculty/staff appreciation days? Thank you very much.

Finally, we appreciate your participating through your child’s experience, extending the conversations started in class, in assemblies, and during co-curricular experiences to your family’s mealtimes or your other times together. We are grateful for conversations during family conferences. We appreciate your bringing your concerns to us and working with teachers and principals, as a team, to resolve them and, on the flip side, we appreciate your letting us know when things are going well.

In March, the chair of our accreditation visiting committee walked out of his conversation with Parents Association Executive Committee and said something along the lines of, “Wow! I wish we had a PA like that. They do so much for the school. They are so committed.”

Sincerely, thank you for your participation, your trust, and your partnership.

Finally, thank you to Kerry Donahue who will be stepping down after two years as PA Co-president.  Well done and much appreciated.

Enjoy the long weekend,
