So much to do, so little time.

While it might not seem possible to hear two sides of the same coin, I overheard the following two comments while listening to students’ conversations today.  One student said, “I can’t believe there are only 7 days of school until Spring Break!”  Accompanied by a huge grin and some fists in the air, this child is clearly excited for some time off from school. Totally understandable.  Another student said, “I can’t believe there are only 7 days of school until Spring Break.”  A harried look and full backpack told me that this student has a ton of work to do in the next week.  High school students are headed into end-of-term exams,  presentations, and projects. The eighth graders just completed their social justice teach-in, the lower school participated in our annual Families Assembly and their schoolmates in all grades have a number of other special events in the coming days.  After finals, the high school will participate in our annual Minimester, three-day intensive courses in a variety of subject areas.  On Thursday, our eighth grade Spanish students take off for Madrid, French students for Paris and a number of middle and high school Mandarin students for Beijing. The rest of us will enjoy Friday’s annual Founders Day assembly, with our buddies, on Friday. Wow!  Lots to do in seven days.

There are also a number of parent events in the coming weeks—before and after break. While you will hear about divisional events from your principal, I want to highlight a few school-wide events.  Take a look at LREI Connect to see all school events and activities.
