There are two middle school learning specialists – one for fifth and sixth grade and one for seventh and eighth. Working with these learning specialists is an expectation and an important vehicle for cultivating an excellent teaching practice. All teachers meet with the learning specialist at their grade level, on a  rotation specified at the start of the year, as well as on an as-needed basis. Learning specialists push into classes to provide extra support for individual students, may co-plan and team teach in order to model strategies, and lead workshops during team or faculty meetings.
