Email

Please be sure to check your email (and physical mailbox located in the faculty room) daily and reply to emails within a single school day.

General Etiquette:

You are not expected to answer emails after school hours or on the weekends and faculty are encouraged to limit what they send during those times.

In general, try to use face-to-face or phone conversations when possible in communication with colleagues. Email is a particularly poor medium for resolving disagreements, addressing time-sensitive issues, and sharing sensitive news. While there are times when it may be unavoidable, prioritize talking.

Do not engage in argument over email. In particular, if a parent or colleague seems upset, either move the conversation to phone/meeting or consult Nathan about next steps.

Be judicious about replying all and about adding new people to a conversation.

The Monday Memo

The Monday Memo is the divisional blog that contains important schedule information and news. It is crucial that you read the blog in order to keep abreast of goings on in the divisional and in the school for the coming week. Our ability to keep announcements and clerical tasks out of our divisional meeting time depends on everyone’s commitment to this.

Posting Homework

Google Classroom is our primary online tool for communicating daily homework assignments. All homework assignments and relevant due dates are to be posted on Google Classroom. Assignments must be posted by 4:00PM on the day that they are assigned.

Relevant instructions for assignments should be written out and reviewed in class.

Assignments added outside of regular school hours (at night or over the weekend) should be set to “publish” during regular school hours so that students don’t receive additional notifications throughout the weekends or evenings.
