There is no homework tonight!

The children should all be studying and reviewing for next week’s math test.

Have a great night!

Math Test – Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Sixth Grade Math Test – Wednesday, May 12, 2010

The test will cover:

Operations with Integers

Order of Operations

Absolute Value

Numbers: Whole, Natural, Integers, Rational, Irrational

24 Answers!

Here is one possible answer for each of the 24 problems, there are other answers!

1.            9,   3,    2,    -6

9 – -6 = 15

15 – 3 = 12

12 x 2 = 24

2.            -8,   4,   6,   -6

-6 x -8 = 48

6 – 4 = 2

48 ÷ 2 = 24

3.            4,   3,   7,   -7

3 x -7 = 21

7 – 4 = 3

3 – – 21 = 24

4.            5,   -9,   -1   -5

-5 – – 9 = 4

5 – – 1 = 6

6 x 4 = 24

5.            2,   -2,   8,   9

2 x 9 = 18

8 + -2 = 6

18 + 6 = 24

6.         2,   -2,   4,   -8

-2 x -8 = 16

2 x 4 = 8

16 + 8 = 24

Hello Sixth Graders!

I am posting again!

Today we had a test on integers and absolute value.  Most of you have a good clear understanding of the concepts involved with adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing integers as well as using absolute value, CONGRATULATIONS!  If you are still feeling uncomfortable take out some of the old worksheets and practice!  I will return the tests on Friday!

We will work more on Order of Operations and sets of numbers on Thursday and Friday.

For homework tonight you have a worksheet using word problems with integers.  Please complete it and bring it to class with you the next time we meet.
