Hypebeast is a term that has been used consistently throughout media and high schools for several years. According to Bustle.com, a hypebeast is a person who follows a brand or company to be viewed as popular or in style. A person who wears what is hyped up.” Here’s how it works: “Hypebeasts” buy robots on websites such as Off-White, Supreme, Fight Club, and several other clothing brands or games. These robots purchase all the items on your chosen website in less than 5 seconds. Then, they resell all the products, sometimes doubling or tripling their profit.

Hypebeasts are a specific type of salesmen, and their methods of promotion can be considered as innovative and profitable. However, negative stereotypes occur because others think that they are simply full of themselves.  From the outside, it may appear that hypebeasts are simply rich and obnoxious because they are wearing such expensive brands. The term Hypebeast has become more popular overtime, and the job itself is prevalent among both kids and adults. When asking classmates who consider themselves hypebeasts about why they love buying and selling brands, they mostly said that wearing expensive brands gives a boost in self confidence and makes them feel “special”. Expensive brands are constantly promoted through media, songs and celebrities, therefore they are at high demand. Celebrities always seem to set the latest trends with expensive brands. Hypebeasts are influenced by these trends and like to copy them. Who knows what these Hypebeasts will do next?
