Project by: Margaret MacGillivray (10th Grade)
Project Advisor: Jessica Tan
Student(s)’s Advisor(s): Charlene Cruz-Cerdas
Description of the Project:
In preparation for the possibility of spending time learning Mandarin this summer, I am learning how to become more fluent in Mandarin and am learning more about Chinese culture. Jessica is teaching me how to talk about various conversation topics such as household talk. I am also going through the words I don’t know and making Quizlet sets about them. For the cultural aspect of the project, I have been researching the Chinese volleyball team and various Youtubers in China.
Final Product (e.g., documents, images, video, audio, poster, display, etc.):
Final Reflection on Learning:
By learning more Mandarin and more about Chinese culture, I have gotten a broader view of China. Not only have I become more fluent in Mandarin by speaking with Jessica, but I have learned more about Chinese and Taiwanese foods, movies, currency, weather, and culture. I feel more confident on my Mandarin skills and knowledge of Chinese culture going into the next trimester.
