Jared and I finished our goal for Trimester 3, creating 8 30-minute podcasts and finally being able to have our podcasts featured on Apple and Soundcloud. Click here to listen.

Reflecting on trimester 2:
We got closer to our goal of publishing to iTunes as we have now published on SoundCloud with our latest episode. As we continue to record we will upload to SoundCloud which will then go to iTunes. We did complete our goal of 7 podcasts and we are proud of that each with the same quality content as trimester 1. Over the course of the trimester, we continued to improve the quality of our podcasts as we really pushed ourselves during a lull period of the sports season. We focused on projections. Our favorite podcast would have to be the hall of fame podcast as we discussed the history of some of the games greatest players. Last trimester we completed 7 15-45-minute podcasts, which was above our goal. We also had an episode with two guests as one of our goals for trimester 3 is to get more guests on the podcasts to hear more voices and opinions. We were very content with how much product we created. We hope to improve our communication skills in the third trimester. Here are all the un-cut podcasts we have done:
The longest podcast of the season was probably our best. We expanded the way we do podcasts as well; we did one over the phone and this one was probably our best podcast:
These were all created after creating our outlines. Our goal for trimester 3 is as follows, each week, a podcast should be done. With the same goal of 7 completed podcasts. A benchmark is for our iTunes Podcast account to be finished and all of our podcasts should now be continued to be uploaded to SoundCloud. We did meet our goal of putting a podcast on at least one platform: Soundcloud. Overall, Jared and my communication has shape-shifted throughout the trimester. Over the course of the trimester, we were able to change our habits and become better speakers through the project. We think our content will improve even more in Trimester 3. We have ideas to start interviewing real sports figures within the sports world as we continue to grow our podcast! Thanks.

Reflecting on trimester 1:
We hoped to create a website, but realized that goal was a far reach. We did complete our goal of 7 podcasts and we are proud of that. Over the course of the trimester, we continued to improve the quality of our podcasts. Working on outlines was a big improvement for us. We didn’t want to get too scripted but with improved outlines the quality of the podcast improved. Last trimester we completed 8 30-minute podcasts, which was above our goal. We were very content with how much product we created. We hope to improve our communication skills in the second trimester. Below all of the un-cut podcasts we have done:
Our favorite podcasts probably have to be Podcast #3 & #6. We talked mostly MLB on the third podcast, but we believe we were the most articulate in that podcast. In podcast 6 we probably had our most engaging topics and ideas. We used the creativity challenge of this process by asking ourselves what we were grateful for in each pro sports.
These were all created after creating our outlines. Our goal for trimester 2 is as follows, each week, a podcast should be done. With the same goal of 7 completed podcasts. A benchmark is for our iTunes Podcast account to be created should be the first of March, so we have some time to upload our media to the platform. We would like all of TRI 2 podcasts to be up on the platform. Overall, Jared and my communication has shape-shifted throughout the trimester. At first, we cut ourselves off a lot and I had trouble saying “ummm” and “like” a lot, but over the course of the trimester we were able to change our habits and become better speakers through the project. With the outlines we were able to keep track of how long to talk on a topic as well as knowing beforehand what we were asking.

TRIMESTER 3 PROJECT PROPOSAL
Please write a description of the project you are proposing. Why do you want to take this on, and what do you hope to learn?
Like last trimester, we would like to create a weekly podcast focused on the current issues in the Sports World. As well as learning continue to upload our content on platforms. Unlike last trimester’s goal to make a website, we’ve decided for this trimester to at least upload our podcasts to a platform (apple podcasts). Last trimester we completed 7, 15-45 minute podcasts which was our goal. We were very content with how much product we created. We hope to improve our communication skills in the third trimester and meet and talk to some sports figures within our community and out.
Critical thinking, creativity, citizenship and courage are essential LREI learning values. Explain how you’ll draw on at least one of these values to complete your proposed project?
We believe that our podcast can complete the creativity and critical thinking aspect by our podcasting skills that demonstrate how we can take a topic and put a fun spin on it. For example, last trimester Jared and I in one of our podcasts looked at the more underrated free agents in baseball and compared them to the “super star” names. Also the second trimester we talked about the Hall of Fame debate and was able to be creative in our analyze of who should be considered a hall of famer by looking in depth to statistics.
What is your proposed outcome? How will you be able to demonstrate successful completion of this Project? How do you plan to share your learnings with the larger LREI community (e.g., exhibit of work, poster of learnings, performance, etc.)?
Our proposed outcome is that we are able to make a bevy of podcasts that show our understanding of sports. We’d like to complete the same amount of podcasts as last trimester and have it published on a platform. The length of each podcast would be around 30 minutes long. We want the podcasts to not be childlike, so they maintain a level of professionality. We would like for this project to be as professional as possible so that we can execute this podcast as if we were doing this to create a following. This includes why we want to learn how to publish it on many platforms. Because our podcasts we made are now on SoundCloud we would like to, show and spread the word about our podcast. Hopefully, we can upload it to iTunes regularly now. Also interviewing different people is something we cant to work on because we think it would be beneficial for our podcasting and journalism skills. Different games/ideas than just conversation are our goal as well.
Please provide a general outline that indicates your work plan for the trimester? What are some of the key project benchmarks (i.e., goals that will help to ensure that you finish the project)?
Continuing to Trimester 3: These were all created after creating our outlines. Our goal for trimester 3 is as follows, each week, a podcast should be done. With the same goal of 7 completed podcasts. TRIMESTER 1 PROJECT PROPOSAL:
Please write a description of the project you are proposing. Why do you want to take this on, and what do you hope to learn?
We would like to create a weekly podcast focused on the current issues in the Sports World. As well as learning how to upload our podcasts on different platforms. We also have an interest in creating a website to showcase our podcasts and give summaries.
What is your proposed outcome? How will you be able to demonstrate successful completion of this Project?
Our proposed outcome is that we are able to make a bevy of podcasts that show our understanding of sports. We’d like to complete 7+ podcasts and have it published on a platform. The length of each podcast would be around 30 minutes long. We want the podcasts to not be childlike, so they maintain a level of professionality.
We would like for this project to be as professional as possible so that we can execute this podcast as if we were doing this to create a following. This includes why we want to learn how to publish it on many platforms (make a website). We as well want to be able to get better at our speaking skills so we can show our understandings of sports while speaking concisely.
When do you plan on meeting?
Every week during lunch/x-block
I can’t meet on Wednesdays at X Block (Monday, Thursday, and Fridays are free) but other than that, your plan looks good and I approve.
