Description of the Project: For this project I’ll be working on a small painting a day which may turn into a larger painting a week. I’m hoping to develop my own style through this and overall just get more creative and not be so precious about my art work. I’m trying not to set a specific goal for this project aside from just pushing myself to experiment with different art forms. I’m hoping that by the end, I’ll be more comfortable with my style of painting and discover what this style is.

Final Reflection on Learning: Throughout my honors project over this trimester, I experimented with different ways of painting (not every painting I did is shown here). Sometimes i challenged myself to use only a few colors and make others from those which I noticed I really liked how it turned out. Everything in the painting complemented each other more because every different mixture of color came from the same three. In the beginning, I started doing paintings of anything, not really focused on the subject. Then I started thinking more about what I want to paint and how I can use the techniques I learned to better demonstrate it like using different texture for water versus a tree or skin versus clothing. At the end, I wanted to work with different mediums like watercolor which I learned I really enjoyed. It took me some time to figure out the best techniques for using watercolor and I had to learn to be much more careful with my work as opposed to regular paint which you can always paint over.
