I created a mixed media and photography portfolio that included both portrait photography, street photography and experimental photography. I have been shooting film and digital photography for quite a while and I wanted to try to organize my work into a portfolio.

PROJECT PROPOSAL:

Please write a description of the project you are proposing. Why do you want to take this on, and what do you hope to learn?

I am proposing to create a mixed media and photography portfolio that would involve both portrait photography, street photography and experimental photography. I already have been shooting film and digital photography for quite a while and I want to try to organize my work and hopefully end up with a portfolio. I hope to be able to incorporate some form of collage art or painting into my portfolio as well if time permits.

Critical thinking, creativity, citizenship and courage are essential LREI learning values. Explain how you’ll draw on at least one of these values to complete your proposed project?

I think my project will take lots of critical thinking and creativity because I have to be able to think about my vision for the art I want to make and then actually put it all together.

What is your proposed outcome? How will you be able to demonstrate successful completion of this Project? How do you plan to share your learnings with the larger LREI community (e.g., exhibit of work, poster of learnings, performance, etc.)?

My proposed outcome is to have come up with a portfolio. I will demonstrate the successful completion of this project by creating a portfolio of work that I am proud of. I plan to share my learnings with the larger LREI community by creating prints so I can exhibit the work in the school and hopefully creating a simple website for my work that anyone can have access to.

Please provide a general outline that indicates your work plan for the trimester? What are some of the key project benchmarks (i.e., goals that will help to ensure that you finish the project)?

The first benchmark will probably be to sort out all of my photos, decide on a vision and decide on how I can improve/what to shoot next. Then I want to create a clear vision for my project and organize my ideas. I hope to then create a portfolio by combining different photos from different shoots and working with Susan to decide which photos I should work with. Then my last benchmark will be to create a website for my portfolio and get prints to hang around the school when the time comes.
