Final Reflection:
In this process, I used video analysis to draw conclusions about running. I had filmed Amari running and Emily hurdling and compared Emily’s hurdling video to a video of a girl hurdling that I found online. Overall, I think that this process was educational, as I learned how to use a new program (Tracker), and things that I had been told before about running were reinforced with actual evidence. In order to organize my information, I created a scientific poster (below) with my findings.
Please write a description of the project you are proposing. Why do you want to take this on, and what do you hope to learn?
The project I am proposing is to use various tools like video analysis in order to model running with physics. I want to take this on because I feel like I understand what I am learning in Physics class and I would like to apply the different equations, diagrams, and graphs to find something outside of the classroom setting. From this, I hope to learn about the physics of running and use/better understand the tools in more complicated settings.
What is your proposed outcome? How will you be able to demonstrate successful completion of this Project?
My final project would be a scientific conference-style poster displaying/explaining my findings (and for me personally, how I could possibly improve my running).
Who is your Honors Project Teacher, and when do you plan on meeting?
My teacher is Kelly and we would plan to meet Tuesdays before school.
