2. Booktalks start on Monday! Check Due Dates (in PAGES to the left) if you forgot when you’re presenting. Rehearse at home with a sibling or parent.

3. Continue preparing your Current Events. There will be no more class time allotted to this so make arrangements to meet after school if necessary.

4. Complete the SHOW NOT TELL worksheet.  This will be due on Monday.

3. Start preparing your Current Events. Tomorrow we will use the afternoon section of Core to work with your group members.

4. The rest of the capitalization worksheet will be due on Monday. Use the capitalization rule guide to help you.

2. Bring in your Current Events article. Make sure you have enough copies for everyone in your group.

3. Complete pages 1-2 of the Capitalization Worksheet.

4. Type up your Hamlet “Lost Chapter” entry, double-space and have it printed out for Core by Friday.

2. Bring in your Hamlet books tomorrow. We’ll be reading from the play during our Core All.

3. Bring in your Current Events articles and make sure you have enough for all group members. We’ll be doing this all Thursday.

4. Write one paragraph that shows the setting of your Lost Hamlet creative writing. Remember good setting shows the time, location, and place of the story. It also includes the main backdrop and mood of the tale.

Ask yourself these questions when writing the setting:

1. Did I put in details that make it obvious that the story is taking place in the Middle Ages?

2. Will the reader know what season and what time of day it is?

3. How can I put these details in the story by showing the characters interacting with the setting and not just telling the reader about it?

2. Find a new Current Events article and write a short – one paragraph – reflection about it. We’ll break into groups on Thursday to work on this.

3. Make sure you bring in your writer’s notebooks everyday. We’ll be working on your Hamlet lost chapters for the next few days.
