2. Start composing your Plague Letter. Use your notes that you have compiled in your spiral notebook. Remember to focus on your character, setting and make sure you have at least TWO historical facts in your letter. Letter must be 1-2 pages double-spaces.

2. Holiday Writing
In thinking about the holidays and the traditions that surround them, one of the traditions we have in the 6th grade is having students think about their family traditions and how they celebrate them at this festive time of year. When the 6th grade return from break, it is their turn to display their work on the diversity bulletin board in the 6th Avenue lobby. As we have done for many years, we ask students to talk to some of their adults over the break about the traditions they celebrate and to then write a short paragraph about their celebrations. If possible, they may include a photo or a recipe in their piece.
