Science was a major factor in the efficiency of the colonization of America, it also played a huge role in the survival of the colonists because it taught them about the America’s perils and delights. Although lots of people still relied on religion and superstition, the smarter of the colonists turned to science and proven knowledge to build the colony and help it survive. The roles of scientists in Colonial America was to study the world around them and explain their discoveries to the rest of the world in order help with the civilization of America. As you have read people like John Bartram and Benjamin Franklin revolutionized science and their discoveries and inventions still have an impact on science today. Overall science was a commonly looked to topic during the colonization of America because it gave the colonists exactly what they needed to survive in America.
