Chitty Chitty Bang Bang by Ian Fleming.

chitty chitty bang bang by Ian Fleming (who also wrote the James Bond series) is a book about a magical car and it’s adventures and it is excellent. chitty chitty bang bang is set in England and France. the main characters are Mimsie Caractacus Jeremy and Jemima Pots a poor-ish family who make millions on an invention. when they get the money they buy a car and fix it up then they go on an adventure. They’re in France they run into some trouble. there is also a recipe  surprise at the end, if you have the right edition. I give this book ***** five stars.photo

A Tale Dark And Grimm By Adam Gidwitz

This book is a horror/humor themed novel. I usually do not like horror and humor together but I think that this book changed my mind. This book is about Hansel and Gretel. All of you probably know about Hansel and Gretel and their cheesy little witch story. but this book shows the original, grimm, tale. Not only does it show you the witch story but it also shows you a bunch of other horrifying, eye-popping, tales. I would recommend this book to people who don’t feel queasy when they read about blood and people who do not get scared easily because as said before, this book is pretty scary (not to me but probably to some people in the grade.) I would rate this book 5 out of 10 stars because I really think that this book did not get the most appealing introduction and ending. But what I really do love about this book is all of the fantasy and adventure in between the horror and humor. The last story about a dragon seemed the most upbeat but if you want to know what it was you’ll have to read the book to find out.

S.T.A.T. by Amar’E Stoudemire

imgresI recommend the S.T.A.T. series if you like sports or adventure. it is an auto-biography. The books are about Amar’e Stoudemire, a player for the Knicks, and his life as a child. The main bump in the last book ,Most Valuable, Amar’e has to set up a tournament for a famous streetball player named omar tanner. The name of the tournament is The Classic.

 In the second book he almost loses his best friends,  Mike and Deuce. He also makes a new friend named James A.K.A.“Jammer”. Over his adventures many things happen. Read the series for more info. the reason I like it is because what I said befor, I like adventure and sports. I would rate this an 8 out of 10 stars.

Trouble According to Humphrey by Betty G. Birney

Trouble according to Humphrey is by Betty G. Birney. Humphrey is the main character and this book is full of adventure because of the main character Humphrey. It takes place in many places like the school and other kids houses.

Once a family called the Paynes who complained about Humphrey and It was about getting their family sick and also Humphrey was not eating so Mrs. Brisbane  the teacher brought humphrey to the vet when Humphrey really just was sad about his human friends and what he had done to them accidently. This book was really good and if you like animals and adventure and even if you don’t you will probably like this book anyway.

One of my favorite parts as when Humphrey was at Seths and  Seths families and they [and Humphrey] had a competition on who can sit still the longest. The one who wins gets 2 tickets to the movies and can bring a friend and Seth [ who is called sit still Seth because he always pops out of his seat] won. I would really recommend this book in fact it is about my 2nd favorite book. This book is very good for 3rd and 4th graders. I think it is good for them because if I read this book in 3rd grade it would probably have been just right for me and I know it is just right for me in 4th grade because I read it in 4th grade. I rate this book five stars out of five because it is sure one of my favorites.

The Wicked Wicked Ladies in the Haunted House

Maureen who is the main character in the book I read is kind of a bully but only because people pick on her sometimes, she is also a very clever kind of girl who needs a lot of attention because she is always causing trouble.

 

So one day Maureen is walking along and takes her neighbor’s house because she is in a cranky mood and sprays her neighbor’s house with water and then Maureen’s neighbor comes out of her house and yells at her so she sprays her neighbor too. And her neighbor chases her but Maureen runs so fast that her neighbor can’t keep up with her.

 

Near by there was an old haunted house but Maureen did not know that so she ran into the haunted house and finds a magical feather bracelet and she takes it. The ladies who live in the house need that bracelet to do the magic they want to do so they send Maureen back in time to get the bracelet back.

 

It is a really magical wonderful story it is well written and I would rate my book 5 out of 5 stars.

Remarkable by Lizzie K. Foley

imgresEvery one in the town Remarkable is remarkable every one but a girl named Jane. If Jane is walking down the street, people will bump in to her because she is so unremarkable. Jane meets a pirate captain named Captain Rojo Herring, and is put in a class with the mischievous  Melissa and Eddie Grimlet . Her grandpa John also never gets noticed so Jane tries to be remarkable but she cannot get noticed one little bit. Jane will have to face dangers of a huge storm, a lake monster who is named lucky and is lucky, three mean pirates and the construction of the bell tower at the post office. Jane knows it is up to her to save Remarkable and she might realize she is remarkable after all. I rate this book 5 stars.

Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix by J.K Rowling

On Harry’s fifth year at Hogwarts lots of things change. I have watched the movie a few times but I am only at page 125 and it goes to page 854 or something around that. I know that you should always read the book before watching the movie but did it a different way. So since i did not read the whole book but I watched the whole movie I am going to explain all of the part I read in the book and then I will maybe explain what happens a little bit in the movie.

imagesWhen harry leaves the Dursleys house he is so happy because the Dursleys are always so mean to Harry. The place harry goes to is Sirius Black’s house and Harry gets to see Hermione, Ron,Fred and George. Whenever Harry sees all his friends and he has not seen them in a while he is always so happy to see them. But when Harry returns to Hogwarts a new defense against the dark art professor comes and that is when things change a lot. The new professor’s name is Dolores Umbridge she is about the most strict teacher at Hogwarts so far. Dolores Umbridge loves pink and everything in her little office is pink, she does not exactly like Harry so much and she acts nice to him but she actually tricks Harry into doing bad things…

This book so far is a really good book and if you like stories that kind of make you feel like the place is real you would like this book. The book is also adventurous and the book makes you want to read more and sometimes you just want to keep on reading until you finish the book. I would definitely recommend this book and I would give this book a four star rating out of five stars.

Belly Up by Stuart Gibbs

Belly Up by Stuart Gibbs is really good. It’s about a kid whose names Teddy who lives at a zoo since his parents work there, and Henry who is a Elephant that died. The book is set in  a zoo in Texas called Funjungle. Teddy thinks that Henry died because he was murdered. Was he right? You must read the book to find out!

 

My favorite part of the book was when someone let out a very dangerous snake just before Teddy entered the snake place at the zoo. I didn’t have a least favorite part of the book since it was so good!

 

I would recommend this book to adventure lovers because it’s a big adventure. I would give this book a 20 out of 5 star rating.

It’s about a kid named Moon Blake, he lives in the forest with his father. Then one day a guy buys part of the land that they’re living in. So the father gets stressed out, then the father gets a piece of wood stuck in his leg, After time he dies. He tells moon to try to get to Alaska, with his last breath. So Moon backs his stuff in the wheelbarrow and sets for Alaska. He finds out which way Alaska is and he walks that way. Then a police man finds him walking. They have a little fight with one another, after a while the police man puts him in the car and puts him in jail. He stays there for a while and then goes to a boys home. He meets his friend who has a breathing problem and another buff one. Moon has plans to get out of the mini hell, will he with his friends or will he be stuck in there for ever? Find out if you read the book, I give this book a five star rating. It was a great book, it makes me cry every time I read it.

LAWN BOY, by Gary Paulsen

LAWN BOY is about a 12 year old boy named _____ (yes, he doesn’t have a stated name) and his family is broke. He is intelligent and thinks he is dumb.

As a birthday present he gets his grandfather’s old 10-speed lawn mower. So, not knowing what to do does the obvious: he mows his cute little, old, not very taken care of lawn.

[The old mowing companies’ boss ran off into paradise with his new wife.] While he’s mowing his lawn his neighbor walks up to him and from across the fence asks; “you mow lawns?…”

And thats where his summer gets exiting.

His first client, a start to a boring, but still exiting summer. While he is mowing the lawn, another customer asks for him to mow his lawn and it happens again and again and again.

Then he meets Arnold, ‘a 70s hippie guy.’ A client who can’t find 35$ and, gets him a small account in the stock market and… before he knows it, he’s sponsoring his very own boxer: Joey Pow…

 

All of the chapters have a title that you don’t figure out why it’s called what it is called in ’till the end of the chapter

This book is a quick (88 pg.) fun, sometimes cliffhanger, and just a plainly amazing book for a plane ride or car ride that will make you think the story has just begun, so read ‘LAWN BOY returns’ if you want the rest of his story! I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
