A Tale Dark And Grimm

In this book there are 2 main characters, Hansel and Gretel. Hansel and Gretel love adventures! They go on all types of adventures. This book takes place in a lot of places. 1 place is the woods, Other places is a house, or a town. This  book has a lot of bloody details.

 

Throughout the story, Hansel and Gretel have to work together and power through scarey times. Hansel and Gretel are siblings who get along. They both love scarey! There are many people that are rude to Hansel and Gretel in the story. I really think this book is an adventure!

 

I enjoyed this book a lot. I liked the part when the witch almost eats them and a lot of other scarey parts. I would recommend this book who can handle gruesomeness and blood. And it is a little scarey. I would rate this book 4 **** out of 5*****.

And that is why I liked the book! you should read it.

The Battle Of the Labyrinth By Rick Riordan

The book I recently read was The Battle Of The Labyrinth, By Rick Riordan. The main characters of the book are Percy Jackson who is the Son of Poseidon, Annabeth who is the daughter of Athena, and Grover, a satyr. Percy and Annabeth are both half-bloods. Half-bloods are half human and half god. Grover, the satyr, is half human and half goat. The book takes place mostly at camp half-blood, but a lot of the time the main characters are also in the Labyrinth.

The Labyrinth is an underground maze that a lot of people never get out of. They are in the labyrinth because the council is going to take Grover’s searchers license if he doesn’t find Pan.

 

I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend this book to people that like action, and fantasy. I rate this book 4½-5 stars. Hope you read it!

Out of My Mind, By Sharon M. Draper

imgres-2Out of My Mind is a… so so book in my opinion.

It is about a 11 year old girl named Melody, who; can’t walk, talk, or have controlled movements (besides her thumbs.) Her doctors said she could never live anything near a normal life. Her parents said no but the doctors said yes. Her mom would get angry at them, but that didn’t change their mind one bit.

The only way she can communicate is by a board that has a bunch of words on it, made by misses V: her baby sitter. She knows Melody is smart, and Melody’s parents know too.

The school year is starting and it’s Melody’s first year of middle school. She is in the same classroom; the one for the kids with disabilities in the school. She learns the abc’s and 123’s again, and again, and again.

Her teachers say no, she’s not smart she’s retarded.  Melody thinks they think she is to dumb to hear them.

But now, Melody has a chance, a chance to have fun. Not watching the ‘normal’ kids play at recess. Her chance is a new type of class; one where she can be with the normal kids in the grade.

Sometimes Melody gets nervous and she drools and sometime has ‘tornados’ where she freaks out and makes weird sounds and kicks and  screams.

This is a knew beginning to her knew life.

And that’s where her adventure begins. It is kind of like East Side Story where it has a really bad ending. I would rate this 3 out of 5 stars.

Mouse and the motorcycle, is about a mouse named ralph who is up for adventure and goes  out of the mouse hole,thinking its a breeze out in room 215 at the mountain view inn, but then Ralph finds a motorcycle and wants to figure out how to work it,but then he meets kieth the boy who is visiting the hotel in room 215.So read mouse and the motorcycle! and find out what happens.

And I rate it four stars.

Genius Files; From Texas With Love By Dan Gutman

(WARNING! DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ AND FINISHED MISSION UNSTOPPABLE, NEVER SAY GENIUS, AND YOU ONLY DIE TWICE.)

 

From Texas with Love is about two thirteen year old kids named Coke and Pepsi Macdonald. They are at the mercy of the insane Dr. Warsaw. He has some henchman: The “Bowler dudes”, two not so smart brothers in bowler hats, and Mrs. Higgins, their evil health teacher who is in love with Dr. Warsaw.

This book is part of a still growing series and is the 4th one.

When they see Dr. Warsaw in Hot Springs spa, he has a breakdown and can’t bring himself to kill them but shortly afterward someone, sends them a cipher and Coke and Pep,(Pepsi) realize that he isn’t done. Who could be sending them a Cipher now?

I liked this book because it was very action packed. In every chapter besides the very beginning, someone tries to kill them in a different way.

I would recommend this to people who like twists, problem solving, action, and memorizing lots and lots of absolutely useless information!

I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars!

SCAT ,by Carl Hiaasen

       Scat is a really good book that is about a teacher that goes into a swamp when a fire is burning to get a student’s medication. The teacher does not come out of the fire, Marta and Nick are wondering why she does not come out. But there is something about the timing, the day before the teacher disappeared a boy in her class eats half of her pencil and people are saying that the boy set the fire. Will Marta and Nick see the puzzle and put it together?

       This is a good book that I did not want to put down. This is a good book that people would love if they loved mystery and leaving you with a never ending idea.

      UnknownI would give this book 1,000 stars if I could, I would give it 5 ***** stars.

Emily Winsnap is a wonderful series of books by Liz Kessler. (Warning: Don’t read the next sentences if you haven’t read the books.) In the 1st book, Emily finds out she can turn into a mermaid when she goes in the water, and tries to hide it so she doesn’t end up in a scientist’s lab. But she finds out a secret that has been hidden since Emily’s birth, that her mermaid friend, Shona, helps her figure out:  Her dad’s a merman! Emily’s dad has been missing since her birth, and when she finally rescues him, her family and Shona go to live in Allpoints Island, where mermaids are safe from humans, which leads to the 2nd book. But we figure out that mermaid girl’s lives aren’t that different than our own. They go to school, have sleepovers, and chat together. But when Emily’s chance to impress the mermaid girls goes horribly wrong, only she can fix it. And to top it off, her only friend isn’t speaking to her. What can she do? Read the book to find out!

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle

I think that  a winkle in time is a very good book. I don’t want to give a way to much of the book so I’ll tell you a little of the book .Its about  a girl named meg ,her brother charles and their friend Calvin. In this book they go on a big adventure through time and space others who have read it said that it was really confusing ,but I don’t think so. [Partly because I watch Doctor  Who].  I would give this book a 5*****star rating !! And I recommend this to 4th and 5th graders.

Atlantis Rising by T.A Baaron

imagesAtlantis Rising is about a person named Promi. He is a thief with a sweet tooth in the city of great powers. One day he steals a pie and gets thrown in a dungeon, where he meets a monk who tells him that the immortals are at war with the immortal of war. After Promi gets out of the dungeon he meets Atlanta, who has natural magic. The Immortal of war has a servant named grukkar who is in the mortal world. Grukkar is trying to find a magical object and turn it into a weapon for Narkhazan (the immortal of war.) Also, in the dungeon Promi meets a listener (magical people) who gives him listener powers. He also learns of a prophecy that states that someone with the mark of a soaring bird will hold the balance of the two worlds. Promi has that mark. My favorite part was when Kermi (a magic creature given to Promi by the listener) jumped on Narkhazans face. I would rate this book five stars because it is very interesting.

The Tail of Emily Windsnap, by Liz Kessler

The main character of The Tail of Emily Windsnap by Liz Kessler is Emily there are some supporting characters and they are her mom and Shona. Most of the book takes place, well its sort of even the story takes place on land as well as under water.

One important part of the book was when Emily felt a cramp like felling in her legs a felling of them joining together and that night she was felling a little curious so see snuck out that and creeped into the ocean and she discovers her secret she was a mermaid.

Another important  part of the book was when she and Shona (her mermaid friend) go to this abandon ship and Emily realizes that the ship is exactly what her mom had said her dream boat was like so Emily starts to get a little freaked out.

This was one of the best books I have ever read. My favorite part of the book was when Emily went to mermaid curt because of what she did but I can’t tell you what she did you will have to read the book and find out. I didn’t have a least favorite part. I would rate this book ***** out of ***** and people who believe or want to know more about  majestical creatures this book is for you.
