The Meaning of Maggie By Megan Jean Sovern
The name of this book is called The Meaning Of Maggie and it is by Megan Jean Sovern. This book is not part of a series. This book is mainly about a girl named Maggie. Maggie’s Dad’s legs are slowly falling to sleep and everyone in their family is trying to figure out a cure for him. The main characters are the Mom, Dad, two sisters, (Layla,Tiffany) and 
Maggie. The setting of this book is mostly at their house. This book takes place over two years when Maggie was 11 and 12.
Some ways to explain Maggie is very lovely because she helped her older sister Layla with her homework. I also think Maggie is very secretive because she sneaks into the kitchen and gets some candy with no one even knowing. Maggie is very smart because she gets really really amazing grades. In the book I really liked when Maggie, her Mom, and her two sisters had to drag her dad all the way down to the beach each of the days they were on vacation. I also really liked it when Maggie tried to come home from school early but failed. She did not want to run 5 laps in gym. Lastly I really liked it when Maggie’s mom distracted her when her dad was getting a shot. It was really funny because her mom was making all of these excuses to get her away from her dad. She did this because she did not want Maggie to get scared that her dad would not be ok.
I really enjoyed this book because I loved how funny it was! I also liked how surprising the book was! I would definitely recommend this book for a friend because I think it was awesome! I would also recommend this book for people that like funny books! This book reminds me of The Little Mermaid [Ariel] because it is about one girl who has a few sisters that fight. This book also reminds me of High School Musical because one of the main characters has a crush. I would rate this book 5 stars!
Lawless By Jeffrey Salane
This book is called Lawless. It is by Jeffrey Salane. It is about a girl named M. who is not prepared for what is coming to her. M is finding out things about her family that she never knew before. This is because her mother and father kept some secrets from her. The setting of this book is at a school called Lawless. Lawless is a school but this definately not a normal one. The book also takes place around the world like in France and Scotland.
One part of the book that I liked is when M tries to steal something worth a 1,000,000 dollars. I also liked when M saves her friend Cal from drowning. Lastly I liked when M is in The Box and she gets attacked by fulbrights. M is really rebellious because she decides to steal something really important and survived! She is also very kind because she protects her friends from getting hurt. Lastly, M is really smart because she figures out how to find a student for an assignment given by her teacher.
I really liked this book because it is a mystery about the secrets her mom and dad have been keeping from her. I also liked this book because it is based on a criminal life and not a good guy’s life. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys stories about mystery and friendship. This book reminds me of Maleficent because the main character is bad in some ways but in other ways good. This also reminds me of Home Alone because he stole the toothbrush from the grocery store and M is a criminal too. I would rate this book 5 stars!
Moxy Maxwell Does Not Love Stuart Little by Peggy Gifford
This book is called Moxy Maxwell Does Not Love Stuart Little. The author’s name is Peggy Gifford. The name of the Series is Moxy Maxwell. This book is about a little girl named Moxy.She has some friends and their names are Sam and Pansy. She has a big brother named Mark and she has an uncle named Ajax. Moxy’s teacher gave the whole class an assignment. The assignment was to read Stuart Little. Her brother read it on the first day of summer but Moxy has not started the book and it is the last day of summer. The setting of this book is in Moxy’s house and the time is September.
Some of my favorite parts of this book are when Moxy keeps stalling so she does not have to read her book. Even though her and Stuart Little are almost inseparable. I also like the part when Moxy comes up with a great idea but it does not turn out so good and when she tries to clean her room! Moxy is kind of bossy because in the book she tells Pansy and Sam what to do. Moxy procrastinates a lot because she does not like to do what she is told! She is a troublemaker because in the book she floods her mother’s prize dahlias!
I really liked this book because it is really funny how she puts off reading until it is too late. I would recommend this book for people that like family books and who like funny books! For example she has one day to finish her book and she wants to train her dogs. And I think it is a family book because it includes her friends and family. This book reminds me of Ramona’s World because they both get into so much trouble! I would give this book 4 stars!

Ramona’s World by Beverly Cleary
Ramona’s World is mainly about a girl named Ramona. This book is by Beverly Cleary. Ramona is just beginning fourth grade but her teacher m.s Meacham is not very nice. She makes a really good friend named Daisy. Daisy helps Ramona through fourth grade. Ramona has an older sister named Beezus. She is not always very nice. This book takes place from September-February. These are some places this book takes place: Daisy’s house, Ramona’s house, school, and the park.
The three most interesting parts of the book for me were when Ramona had a play date at Daisy’s house and there was a little accident. And when Ramona had to watch her little sister Roberta. I liked this part of the book because she fixed the problem right before her mom got home. I also really liked the part where it was picture day. This reminds me that in second grade I made a ridiculous face! Ramona is really responsible because in the book she watches her sister and her friend’s cat all by herself for one half hour while her mom went to pick up her sister ramona. Ramona is very pleasant because in the book she makes Valentines for her whole class. Ramona is very bold because on the first day of school she raised her hand to share what she had wrote before anyone else.
I recommend this book to other people because I thought it was funny in some parts and I enjoyed the drama in the book. It was funny how Ramona got into so much trouble but she figured out how to fix it right in time! I thought it is cool how in the beginning Ramona was enemies with this girl but at the end they were good friends! I would also recommend this book because it is very sweet. It is about her family and friends. The book reminds me of the book Parent Trap they are both about girls that fight a lot. And the movie Matilda because they both take place at school.
I would rate this book four stars!
